Lamps Plus Shines As Exclusive Lighting Sponsor of Sunset Magazine Idea Houses in Beverly Hills and Silicon Valley

LOS ANGELES – Nov. 2, 2018 – Lighting retailer Lamps Plus is showcasing its designs in two new Sunset Magazine Idea Houses, one in Beverly Hills, Calif., and the other in the Silicon Valley community of Los Gatos. Lamps Plus was the official lighting sponsor for both houses.

Lamps Plus worked hand-in-hand with Sunset’s interior design and editorial teams to ensure both high-design and functionality across both homes. The two projects were different in style and size, and showcased the breadth of Lamps Plus designs.

One video is a house tour with Sunset Editor-in-Chief Irene Edwards, the other was shot during the premiere open house party and captures the reactions from local designers, including Lori Dennis, Erica Islas, Jeanne K. Chung, Jason Lai, Mark Cutler, and Ron Woodson.

The Beverly Hills project was a 2,000 square foot remodel of a mid-century classic, a 1955 ranch home nestled in the hills above the Los Angeles basin. The design of the home emphasized the ultimate goal of Western and California home design, a seamless flow of indoor-outdoor living. There are two outdoor living spaces, as well as two master suites with patio lounge areas that extend outdoors.

In Los Gatos, the project was a 2,800 square foot new construction Craftsman-style home loaded with high-tech trimmings. Indoor-outdoor design elements were emphasized once again, and the modern Craftsman home was designed with a free-flowing floor plan and an inviting outdoor dining and lounge area. For both homes, Lamps Plus worked with the architects, designers, and the Sunset team to bring statement lighting designs into every room. Dining room chandeliers, outdoor lighting, bathroom vanity lighting, and a variety of high-end designer lamps were provided for each home. Both homes were featured in Sunset’s November 2018 120th anniversary special collector’s edition issue.

Lamps Plus has partnered with Sunset Magazine Idea Houses since 2015. Lamps Plus lighting has been featured in four homes, including Denver; Berkeley Hills; Calif., Beverly Hills; and Los Gatos.
