What is a fire pit table?

Fire pit tables are one of the most popular outdoor accessories around. They combine a place for seating, the table part of the design, with a built-in fire feature that uses propane.

  1. The flames on a fire pit table get hot, so use the standard precautions you would around any fire source, particularly when children are around.
  2. Most designs are not portable, so plan where to place it before you assemble.
  3. You can use a fire table pretty much anywhere you can use an outdoor propane gas grill, including wooden decks and patio areas.
  4. However, do not use these tables on a covered porch or patio, and make sure the area is well ventilated.
  5. Propane will last 8 to 12 hours, depending on the table design and the amount of flame created.
  6. Do not use a fire table in a high wind, and make sure you cover the table come winter to protect it from the elements.
